    Presented by the OTOLOGY INTEREST GROUP


    This talk will encompass Dr. Matthew Yung's extensive experience in setting up otologic databases in several European countries and allow surgeons at all levels - community, secondary and tertiary care, to keep track of their outcomes and surgical experiences. They also allow a standardized way of pooling outcomes across institutions and with the adoption of this European database, across countries.

    The objectives are
  • to understand the principles of database design for otolaryngologic surgery;
  • to develop a system to audit results in otological surgery;
  • to develop a common language to describe otologic outcomes so that data can be pooled across centres;
