    ROYAL COLLEGE MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
    This year the Society is pleased to announce that our scientific program qualifies for a total of 22 category I credits under the RCPSC continuing education program.

    POLIQUIN MEDTRONIC-XOMED RESIDENT COMPETITION
    This popular event will be held on Sunday, June 19 and include a lunch hosted by MEDTRONIC-XOMED.

    GLAXOSMITHKLINE POSTER COMPETITION
    The Society will award a $500 prize for the best scientific poster presentation at the meeting.

    SOLVAY PHARMA is proud to support the meeting's audio/visual requirements through an unrestricted educational grant.

    Clovelly Golf Course, St. John's, NL

    Join us at the picturesque Clovelly Golf Course on Sunday evening for delicious Newfoundland lobster. Compete for fun prizes in our putting contest. Dress is casual and warm clothing is advised. Children are welcome. Please meet in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel Newfoundland at 18:00 as bus transportation to the golf course will be provided.

    FREE EVENING / 4TH ANNUAL COHNS FUND, FUND-RAISER EVENT

    This evening has been left open to allow you to take advantage of alumni / family events or come and join us for a very special fund-raiser event.

    "A Taste of Newfoundland"
    Boat Tour, Dinner and Children's Beach Party
    Gatheralls Boat Tours will be our hosts for this adventure to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, home to 500,000 Atlantic puffins and the largest Humpback whale population in North America. This tour is approximately 90 minutes in length, aboard a new, high-speed catamaran built for room, comfort and stability. On our way to the ecological reserve, we hope to see some icebergs.     After the boat tour, your are cordially invited to the restaurant across the road from the docks for an authentic Newfoundland feast. This will be your opportunity to try some of the local favourite dishes. You will be entertained by some very lively Newfoundland musicians. If weather permits, there will be a beach party for the kids that will include hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, games and a bonfire. Supervision will be provided from 18:30 to 20:00.

    Once again, our corporate sponsors are invited to participate in this event and all net proceeds will go directly to the Society's educational foundation - Canadian Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Fund.

  • Space is limited so please register early. VERY IMPORTANT - Please bring warm clothing, including mitts, hats and jackets as well rain protection. Participants should meet in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel Newfoundland 30 minutes prior to their chosen departure time as bus transportation to the docks will be provided.

    COST: $100 per adult / $30 per child (up to 15 years) / No charge for children 3 years and under.

    CHILDREN'S EVENTS

    This year, we hope to make the meeting a "family-friendly" one. We plan to offer a number of activities for children including...

  • A ceramics and pottery class hosted by the Newfoundland Arts Council. Details including cost,
        will be available at the registration desk.

  • In conjunction with the COHNS Fund fund-raiser event and if weather permits, children are invited
        to a "beach party" after the puffin and whale-watching tour Monday evening. This will include food
       (hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks), games and a bonfire. Group supervision will be provided from    18:30 to 20:00.

  • Children are invited to accompany their parent(s) on the companions' tour at a reduced cost.
        This activity is suitable for older children as it includes a tour of the historic sites in St. John's
        as well as a lunch.

  • Children's get-together during the President's Banquet on Tuesday evening. Details, including     cost, will be available at the registration desk. Food, drinks, games and/or a movie with organized     supervision will be provided. Suitable for children ages 3 and up.
  • If there is sufficient interest, we hope to arrange the opportunity for your children to interact with     some beautiful, friendly Newfoundland dogs that will be brought by their owners to the Fairmont     Hotel.

    Because June weather in St. John's can be very changeable, please bring WARM CLOTHING (hats, mitts, jackets, etc.) and RAIN GEAR for you and your family.

    PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION CANCELLATION
    Payment can be made by CHEQUE or VISA CREDIT CARD ONLY. NO OTHER CREDIT CARD WILL BE ACCEPTED. A full refund of the registration fee will be given for cancellations received before MAY 18, 2005. A fee of $50 will apply thereafter. Register early and avoid the substantial increase in the late and on-site fees. Written acknowledgement of registration WILL NOT be provided prior to the meeting. Receipts will be distributed on-site.

    All paper presentations, workshops and panel discussions will be recorded for publication on the Society's website and for possible publication in the Journal of Otolaryngology.

    ATTENTION ALL AUTHORS
    Once again the Society is offering you a chance to WIN A PRIZE. Authors who submit their completed manuscript either DURING or BEFORE THE START of the meeting are eligible. The name of the first author will be drawn from a hat and one lucky winner will receive a prize similar to that presented to our invited guests. This is usually a quality piece of Canadian art.
