Review the anatomy and physiology of the frontal sinus.
Review current surgical techniques for the treatment of chronic frontal sinus disease.
Recognize the importance of technical expertise and instrumentation for successful surgery in the frontal recess.
Review intra and postoperative complications that may arise from frontal surgery.
Review the need for Image Guidance.
At the end of the course, the participants should have a good understanding of the:
Anatomy of the frontal recess.
Physiology and drainage pathway of the frontal recess.
Different options available for dealing with differing grades of disease and obstruction in the frontal recess/sinus.
Role of stents and mitomycin C in the stenotic frontal recess.
Treatment of complications when they occur during frontal recess/sinus surgery.
Role of image guidance in frontal sinus surgery.
Indications and contraindications for carrying out an osteoplastic flap.
