President's Message from Robert Rae

Another year has gone by since the last President's message to the membership. The Society continues to be successful. This is a direct result of the many volunteers who offer their time to encourage ENT education and research, and because of their dedication toward the improvement of the profession as a whole.

Canadian Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Fund

Congratulation to the four Society members who were the lucky winners of the Fund's new "registration draw" this past May in Montreal. As part of the Fund's new revitalization, four active members of the Society will be selected each year through a draw to have their registration fee to the annual meeting reimbursed.

The Fund, along with its corporate partners, awarded two fellowship grants this year. Dr. Arif Janjua (University of Toronto) received the COHNS Fund/GSK Fellowship to do work with Dr. Ian Witterick in Toronto and Dr. Shaun Kilty was the recipient of the COHNS Fund/Medtronic Fellowship in Rhinology and will spend his year with Dr. Martin Desrosiers in Montreal. Once again, our thanks to those companies who continue to support Canadian ENT.

The Fund is also proud to announce that members of the Society can now apply for "mini-fellowships'. This initiative is meant for ACTIVE members of the Society who wish to enhance their expertise in certain areas of the specialty or who would like to acquire new surgical techniques. Mini-Fellowship Application Form

Once again, our sincerest thanks to all those members who have donated to the Fund's new "Circle of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Donors". Contributions are cumlative and a charity donation receipt will be issued for any amount of $25.00.
