On Tuesday morning there will be SPECIAL SESSIONS FOR RESIDENTS on “Demystifying the Royal College Examination Process” and “Establishing an ENT Practice”.

GLAXOSMITHKLINE POSTER COMPETITION

The Society will award a $500 prize for the best scientific poster presentation at the meeting.

ROYAL COLLEGE MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

The 62nd Annual Meeting is an accredited group learning activity under Section1, as defined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for the maintenance of certification program. The total number of hours for this meeting is 35 hours.

FUN WALK/RUN

Start this year’s conference off with a guided walk/run around stunning Lac Beauvert at the Jasper Park Lodge. This one hour tour will include highlights and stories about the area. Net proceeds will be donated to the COHNS Fund.

“Viva Las Vegas”
On Monday evening, the Mary Schaffer Ballroom will be transformed into a Las Vegas casino. Use your $10,000 in “funny money” to gamble at the games of chance, including Craps, Texas Hold ‘Em, Black Jack and Wheel of Fortune. Cash in your winnings at the end of the night for ballots and a chance to win some incredible prizes. Enjoy outstanding food, including a bison carving station and chocolate fountain. Visit the Ice Bar for a martini that will fill your glass after traveling through a luge made of ice. ALL NET PROCEEDS will go to the COHNS Fund. Participation is LIMITED so register early.

TOUR OF THE COLUMBIA ICEFIELDS

Monday, June 2, 2008 – 11:30 to 17:00
Experience the Icefield Parkway, the world’s most scenic highway, with stops for wildlife, waterfalls, mountain ranges and river viewpoints. At the Icefields, join Brewster Ice Explorer* for a tour on the Athabasca Glacier and visit the Parks Canada exhibit. *Snowcoach fare included.

MALIGNE VALLEY TOUR

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 – 12:30 to 16:00
Enjoy the beauty of spectacular Maligne Valley. A short walk at Medicine Canyon is followed by a scenic drive up the valley to the “disappearing” Medicine Lake, then on to Maligne Lake, all the time enjoying the enlightened commentary of the guide on the mysteries, facts and folklore of the area.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM


Children’s Drop-In Program – Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3, 2008 – 09:00 to 15:00. (Parental Supervision Required). For kids 3 years and older. Each day there will be unique crafts, books, movies and fun things to do! Sign up for a scavenger hunt and win a prize.

Children’s Evening Programs, – (Monday and Tuesday 19:00 – 23:00). Children will enjoy a fun get together during the Fundraiser Evening and the President’s banquet. Food, games, crafts and a movie will be provided. All this complete with adult supervision. Suitable for children 3 years & older.

A prize will be awarded for best poster presentation. Judging will take place on Monday and Tuesday during the lunch break. Your presence beside your poster at that time is completely OPTIONAL as judging will be based on the poster only.

ALL POSTER BOARDS are 4′ x 8′ and your poster boards should be 45″ wide x 90″ tall.

SET UP – Sunday, June 1, 2008 – 10 to 17:00
DISMANTLE – Tuesday, June 3, 2008 – 16:00 You must remove your poster at the appropriate time, otherwise we cannot guarantee its return.

PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION CANCELLATION

Payment can be made by CHEQUE or VISA CREDIT CARD ONLY. NO OTHER CREDIT CARD WILL BE ACCEPTED. A full refund of the registration fee will be given for cancellations received before APRIL 30, 2008. A fee of $50 will apply thereafter. Register early and avoid the substantial increase in the late and on-site fees. Written acknowledgement of registration WILL NOT be provided prior to the meeting. Receipts will be distributed on-site.
